About The Position

As our Sr. Guidewire Policy Center Developer, you will use a variety of tools to help us add functionality and prevent issues in our Guidewire software, specifically in Policy Center transitioning several markets to the Guidewire system. You will need to have worked on Policy Center, not just integrated with it. Requires familiarity with BC Plug-ins. This is a remote role but does require 2 onsite days a month. Must live within 100 miles of Coppell, TX. We cannot sponsor for this role.

Requirements

• Experience in a production environment.
• Familiarity with BC Plug-ins.
• Experience working on Policy Center (not just integrating with it).
• Experience with an Agile team or understanding of Agile concepts.
• Prior experience with Guidewire, particularly PolicyCenter and BillingCenter doing integration and configurations.
• Extensive experience with Java, Javascript, SQL, Gosu, IntelliJ, and Studio for coding new features.
• Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of 20 or more people.
• Ability to clarify and explain complex technical concepts to others.
• Must live within 100 miles of Coppell, TX.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Postman, SOAP, and REST.

Responsibilities

• Work on sprint stories daily, using an Agile framework with 2-week sprints.
• Code in Gosu using Studio (a version of IntelliJ customized for Guidewire development).
• Develop batches, user interface (UI) changes, message queues, web service integrations, and modify page configuration files.
• Write unit tests using Guidewire’s unit testing framework.
• Support testing stories by designing or executing testing plans.
• Make presentations to other developers during code review sessions.
• Present stories worked on during sprint reviews to the development team, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Triage tickets, troubleshoot, fix bugs, and review logs to identify root causes of issues.
• Participate in daily standup meetings.
• Complete projects or stories during sprints and meet frequent deployment deadlines.
• Integrate with different web services.
• Build APIs using Mulesoft.
• Work on digital apps using React or Node.js.
