About The Position

As our Sr. Guidewire Policy Center Developer, you will use a variety of tools to help us add functionality and prevent issues in our Guidewire software, specifically in Policy Center transitioning several markets to the Guidewire system. You will need to have worked on Policy Center, not just integrated with it. Requires familiarity with BC Plug-ins. This is a remote role but does require 2 onsite days a month. Must live within 100 miles of Coppell, TX. We cannot sponsor for this role.

Requirements

  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with BC Plug-ins.
  • Experience with Policy Center.
  • Experience working with an Agile team or understanding of Agile concepts.
  • Prior experience with Guidewire, particularly with PolicyCenter and BillingCenter doing integration and configurations.
  • Extensive experience with Java, Javascript, SQL, Gosu, IntelliJ, and Studio for coding new features.
  • Ability to use Mulesoft to build APIs and React or Node.js to work on digital apps.
  • Understanding of Postman, simple object access protocol (SOAP), and representational state transfer (REST).
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of 20 or more people.
  • Ability to clarify and explain complex technical concepts to others who may be less tech savvy.

Responsibilities

  • Working on sprint stories in 2-week sprints using Agile framework.
  • Coding in Gosu, using Studio - a version of IntelliJ customized for Guidewire development.
  • Developing batches, user interface (UI) changes, message queues, web service integrations, making changes to page configuration files or writing unit tests using Guidewire’s unit testing framework.
  • Supporting testing stories by designing or executing testing plans.
  • Making presentations to other developers during code review sessions.
  • Presenting stories worked on during sprint reviews including the development team as well as product owners and other stakeholders.
  • Triaging tickets that come in, troubleshooting, fixing bugs, and reviewing logs to get to the root cause of any issues.
  • Participating in daily standup meetings.
  • Completing projects or stories during sprints.
  • Meeting frequent deployment deadlines.
