About The Position

The Government Affairs Manager, based in Anderson, Texas, will lead external affairs for SpaceX at its Terafab facilities in Grimes County across local and state government relationships, community and business relations, and educational outreach. The role works with internal and external stakeholders to help build and maintain SpaceX’s relationship with the local community and supports the company’s community relations strategic plan. The position requires energy, initiative, and dependability. The manager must reside in or near Anderson, Texas, travel statewide as needed, attend political and industry events on behalf of SpaceX and SpaceXAI, and be flexible to work long hours and weekends when necessary for operations and critical project timelines. Applicants must satisfy applicable U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 8 years of experience working in public affairs, including state and local government policy, advocacy, government affairs, legislative navigation, and/or crisis or issue management.
• Must reside in or near Anderson, Texas.
• Must be willing to travel statewide to support company priorities.
• Must be willing to attend political and industry events on behalf of SpaceX and SpaceXAI.
• Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when necessary to support operations and critical project timelines.
• Must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement with civic leaders across Grimes County, Texas, and the broader Texas region to support SpaceX and SpaceXAI priorities.
• Develop, maintain, and build relationships with local government officials, lawmakers, and regulatory decision-makers.
• Monitor and analyze local and regional policy developments.
• Conduct research as needed and develop policy and collateral materials.
• Partner with the SpaceX Communications team to identify and support outreach and messaging opportunities.
• Support the Director of Government Affairs with statewide government relations priorities as needed.
