About The Position

Establishes and leads cross functional commodity teams to create and implement value optimizing supply strategies for assigned commodity/commodities. Works with project teams to identify sources and negotiate price and delivery for new components. Ultimately responsible for the supply relationship within the assigned commodity/commodities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years purchasing experience, with a preference towards procurement in a manufacturing environment with a Fortune 500 Company.
  • Strong commodity experience within global sourcing
  • Proven negotiating skills
  • Team Leadership/Management Skills
  • Project Leadership experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • International Business Experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills
  • Skilled at effectively interfacing with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership through influence.
  • Able to facilitate dynamic, cross-functional groups
  • Strong global citizenship awareness as it relates to culture and customs
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and activities that often have competing priorities
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office computer systems and applications

Nice To Haves

  • Advance degree desired.
  • A master's degree in business administration (MBA) is a plus
  • A Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other related professional certification, completed or in progress is desired.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, completed or in progress is a plus.
  • Experience in supply chain operations and/or management is plus

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and leads cross functional commodity teams to create and implement value optimizing supply strategies for assigned commodity/commodities.
  • Works with project teams to identify sources and negotiate price and delivery for new components.
  • Ultimately responsible for the supply relationship within the assigned commodity/commodities.
  • Drives lower costs through regional/global consolidation.
  • Develops both long-range strategy and short-term contingency plans.
  • Selects & Develops suppliers into strategic partners bringing value & innovation to the supply chain.
  • Performs and Manages Competitive bidding process, Make vs Buy analysis.
  • Evaluate, measure and report Supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
