About The Position

Establishes and leads cross-functional commodity teams to create and implement value-optimizing supply strategies for assigned commodity/commodities. Works with project teams to identify sources and negotiate price and delivery for new components. Ultimately responsible for the supply relationship within the assigned commodity/commodities. Travels as required for the successful completion of duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years purchasing experience, with a preference towards procurement in a manufacturing environment with a Fortune 500 Company.
• Strong commodity experience within global sourcing.
• Proven negotiating skills.
• Team Leadership/Management Skills.
• Project Leadership experience.
• Strong analytical skills.
• International Business Experience.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Advanced presentation and communication skills.
• Skilled at effectively interfacing with employees at all levels in the organization.
• Proven ability to provide leadership through influence.
• Able to facilitate dynamic, cross-functional groups.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office computer systems and applications.

Nice To Haves

• Advance degree desired.
• A master's degree in business administration (MBA) is a plus.
• A Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other related professional certification, completed or in progress is desired.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, completed or in progress is a plus.
• Experience in supply chain operations and/or management is plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive lower costs through regional/global consolidation.
• Identify sources and negotiate price and delivery for new components.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Select and develop suppliers into strategic partners bringing value & innovation to the supply chain.
• Perform and manage competitive bidding process, Make vs Buy analysis.
• Evaluate, measure and report Supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
