About The Position

The Global FICC Technology group aims to drive business growth for our partners in the Front-Office, Operations and beyond. We do this with a mandate of delivering innovative new products, expanding our trading tool capabilities and modernizing critical platforms. Atomic Innovation (FICC Technology) is an exciting, innovative and growing team with the mission of transforming the app landscape across TD Securities. We do this by designing and developing next-gen platforms that produce a tangible impact to all business areas that depend on them. We're a specialized team of builders with a focus on delivering innovative full-stack solutions, but with a deep-rooted passion of crafting beautiful UIs. As part of the Atomic team, you will build and own a diverse range of products that power our business, spanning multiple business lines. This includes working with our industry-leading Desktop Interop platform or helping to scale our Metals, Energy or FX Trade Automation streams. We also strive to create a fun, but professional and inclusive work culture here in the Atomic team. In the last year, we have coordinated numerous team socials with activities like bowling, boat cruises, park hangouts and gaming at the local arcade.

Requirements

7+ years of professional software development experience building modern web applications.
Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern front-end application architecture.
Experience building backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Experience working with relational and document databases such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or MongoDB.
Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders and end users to refine requirements and shape technical solutions.
Experience leading development efforts and coordinating work with other developers on a project or initiative.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Experience supporting and troubleshooting production applications.
Familiarity with modern engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in Capital Markets or Front Office trading environments.
Familiarity with trading workflows such as pricing, inventory, positions, P&L, or risk management.
Experience building applications within investment banking, hedge funds, asset management, or trading firms.
Experience with desktop interoperability or multi-application workflow platforms.
Familiarity with real-time systems, event-driven architecture, or messaging technologies.
A strong product mindset and interest in improving user workflows and platform design.
Interest in software craftsmanship, continuous learning, or side projects outside of day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of modern full-stack applications across Capital Markets, with a focus on React/Node.js applications and Java services.
Build polished and highly functional user experiences using React and TypeScript.
Develop and maintain backend APIs and services using Node.js and Java/SpringBoot.
Work directly with business stakeholders, traders, and end users to gather feedback, refine requirements, and help shape the product roadmap.
Actively contribute code, participate in code reviews, and help drive technical design decisions across the team.
Coordinate development efforts and provide technical leadership across multiple projects and initiatives.
Debug production issues quickly and effectively, while improving long-term maintainability and platform stability.
Ensure our platforms are reliable, scalable, secure, and extensible.
Mentor junior and intermediate developers, while promoting engineering best practices across the team.
Develop a strong understanding of capital markets workflows and deliver technology solutions that provide meaningful business value.
