About The Position

Skechers is a global footwear brand with a history of innovation and growth. This role is crucial for shaping the visual appeal and feel of Skechers' Women's Sport footwear each season. The Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) Designer will work closely with the Sr. Director of Color & Materials, as well as merchandising and development teams, to translate trend intelligence into executable product designs. The position involves leading CMF concepting from early stages through to tech pack delivery, encompassing both new product development and refreshing existing styles to maintain commercial relevance.

Requirements

  • At least two years of footwear design experience with genuine fluency in CMF (materials sourcing, construction implications, factory-level decisions).
  • Sketching ability precise enough to convey design intent across different locations.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as working tools.
  • Ability to anticipate and interpret color and material trends and select relevant ones.
  • A degree in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred, but quality of work and depth of process are prioritized.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the color, material, and graphic concepting for Women's Sport footwear each season, from early concepting through tech pack delivery.
  • Develop new product designs and refresh existing franchise styles to ensure relevance and commercial appeal.
  • Conduct trend research across runway, retail, and materials, translating findings into brand-right and buildable product decisions.
  • Partner with development teams in the U.S. and Asia to review prototypes and ensure samples align with design intent.
  • Travel to Asia twice a year for hands-on factory and development collaboration.
  • Manage multiple projects in parallel, meet calendar deadlines, and keep cross-timezone development work on track.
