About The Position

We are looking for a dynamic Sr Flight Safety Data Analyst to turn operational and investigative data into actionable safety insights. In this role, you will oversee safety databases, identify trends, and create dashboards that inform risk management strategies across the Bell enterprise. Your work will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture through initiatives such as audits, evaluations, and investigations, ensuring processes remain effective and compliant. As the central point for accident data entry and analysis, you will assess the safety performance of Bell rotorcraft while providing timely mishap notifications to Bell personnel. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Aviation Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety or similar discipline. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
  • At least 10 years working with aviation safety, product safety or quality programs.
  • Experience working with regulations and standards, auditing to the same, identifying and conducting Root Cause analysis, identifying Corrective Actions, monitoring effectiveness.
  • Data Visualization: Ability to create dashboards and charts using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Python/R or Excel
  • Proficiency in statistical methods (regression, correlation, trend analysis)
  • Ability to audit, analyze and communicate data, trends and safety information for use in change management of the culture and to enhance safety.
  • Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
  • Excellent communicator must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with employees, SMS team members, enterprise leaders at all levels, and brief leaders and regulators.

  • Six Sigma certification is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as focal point for incoming information pertaining to mishaps involving rotorcraft
  • Ingest, validate, and analyze safety data on a daily basis
  • Update Bell mishap database with the latest relevant information concerning aircraft and accidents
  • Distribute initial notification of accidents to appropriate Bell departments
  • Conduct statistical analyses of mishap data to support requirements of internal and external customer
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure compliance with continued operational safety requirements, maintaining accuracy and timeliness in all documentation.
  • Manage global SMS audit program against ICAO, TCCA, EASA, FAA, DoD and DCMA standards
  • Oversee Corrective Action Management (CAR)
  • Prepare trend analysis for Safety Review Board (SRB) and leadership
  • Lead safety performance monitoring program
  • Oversee investigation standards, tools, and training
  • Validate effectiveness of risk mitigations through monitoring and follow-up
  • Coordinate supplier product safety audits
  • Maintain any SMS policy and procedure related to Safety Assurance
