About The Position

The Sr Financial Analyst is a key business partner to the operations teams located at West Haven CT, Taylorville IL, Springfield MO and Carlsbad CA. This position supports the Director of HN Premix Supply Chain Finance in the review and monitoring of all activities occurring at the manufacturing facilities involving or having a financial impact on the Company. Key areas of focus include cost of manufacturing, inventory, operations KPI’s and product costing.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plant budgets and forecasts in relation to cost of manufacture, inventory and operations KPI’s. Coordinate with the operations team members to determine direct and indirect headcount requirements, overhead costs, and quality testing costs.
  • Support the monthly financial operations close and reporting cycle.
  • Report on monthly site operations KPI’s. Measure the performance against the targets and provide detailed commentary on the variances.
  • Support product costing at the sites, including setting standard costs, review of actual cost against standard, as well as supporting costing for business quotes and RFP’s. Ensure that key stakeholders understand the drivers of costs.
  • Support inventory management and control functions. Identify and resolve inventory-related issues by analyzing data, defining problems, and providing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and provide analysis in all phases of the accounting process to ensure the plants have the tools needed to operate in an efficient and profitable manner. Responsible for monitoring compliance for a range of procedures and internal controls relating to plant activity.
  • Support cost savings initiatives for the sites.
  • Responsible for capital expenditure project accounting including ROI analysis , project spend vs. plan, and initial fixed asset setup
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the production, quality, maintenance, supply chain and other support departments by providing analytical support and data in a timely manner. Participate in operational decision making.
