About The Position

This role is for a Sr Financial Analyst within Amazon's Perishable Fulfillment business, focusing on the economics of automation and the scaling of grocery fulfillment. The analyst will be the primary finance authority for automation investments, modeling their financial impact, quantifying labor savings, and establishing financial glidepaths for value realization. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a financial tracking framework for ROI measurement of grocery automation at scale.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
  • 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial modeling for automation deployments in Perishable, including costs, expected savings, and timelines.
  • Build the financial glidepath for automation's path to value, with year-over-year milestones tied to deployment phases and labor savings assumptions.
  • Partner with business operations to co-develop achievable financial entitlements for automation deployments.
  • Quantify labor savings entitlements from each deployment, translating technology investments into hours saved, headcount avoided, and P&L impact.
  • Track CAPEX actuals versus CAR approval, flagging overruns and explaining variances.
  • Support the Capital Approval Request (CAR) process by preparing financial models and white papers.
  • Benchmark automation economics against comparable internal and external deployments.
  • Challenge cost assumptions, timeline optimism, and savings claims with data when business cases do not hold up.
  • Own Fusion's financial glidepath to profitability, defining the path, setting milestones, tracking progress, and course-correcting.
  • Model Fusion initiative entitlements, quantifying expected deliverables and connecting them to P&L lines.
  • Partner with business operations and the GFC field to derive achievable plans for Fusion initiatives.
  • Track Fusion initiative performance against entitlement on an ongoing basis, flagging underperformance.
  • Ensure entitlements are tracked, escalated, and course-corrected as needed.
  • Feed Fusion savings and cost inputs into OP1/OP2 planning cycles.
  • Serve as the finance partner to automation and Fusion program teams, embedded in their business rhythm.
  • Translate technology deployment metrics into financial language for leadership.
  • Surface financial trade-offs for program teams.
  • Influence investment prioritization by providing clear, comparable economics across competing automation opportunities.
