About The Position

CockroachDB is a category-defining tech company that makes it easier for companies to build and scale applications. They are looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst, GTM to be a strategic analytical partner to their Go-To-Market organization. This role involves driving financial planning, reporting, and analysis across GTM functions with direct exposure to senior leaders and influence over revenue growth investments. The position requires high independence, close collaboration with business partners, a data-driven mindset, and an eagerness to apply AI to modern finance practices. This is an instrumental hire at a high-growth company with significant opportunity for growth.

Requirements

Strong understanding of GTM financial processes, systems, and organizational structure (within first 30 days)
Solid grasp of how Cockroach Labs operates and the key drivers of its GTM business (within first 60 days)
Ability to contribute meaningfully to reporting and analysis
Ability to identify early opportunities to improve processes or add analytical depth
Fully integrated into the team and operating with high independence on key areas of ownership (after 3 months)
Ability to build strong relationships with business partners
Recognized as a trusted, go-to resource for financial insight within the GTM organization

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted finance partner to GTM leaders across Sales, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and Marketing
Proactively surface financial risks, opportunities, and trade-offs to business leaders
Translate data into clear, compelling narratives for leadership and business partners
Contribute to the annual plan and quarterly re-forecasts for GTM — headcount, opex, and quota/capacity
Build models to support territory design, rep capacity, and coverage decisions
Partner with GTM Operations on commission planning, pipeline, forecasts, and ARR projections
Support expense forecasting and budget consolidation across the GTM organization
Deliver GTM financial reporting — ARR, pipeline, productivity, headcount, and expense vs. plan
Maintain dashboards that give GTM leaders real-time visibility into their business
Drive variance analysis and communicate the "so what" to business partners
Explore and apply AI tools to improve the speed and quality of FP&A work
Experiment with new approaches and share what's working with the broader FP&A team
Help raise the bar on how the team uses technology to do better work
Support GTM investment decisions — segment strategy, comp plan design, and headcount trade-offs — through rigorous analysis and clear recommendations
Contribute to long-range planning and board materials as needed
Drive process improvements that make FP&A faster and more scalable
