About The Position

OpenGov is seeking a driven, analytically strong Senior Financial Analyst to join its GTM Finance & Strategy team. This role involves being a strategic thought partner to the business, embedded within GTM leaders to build the analytical foundation for sales, deployment, retention, and growth strategies. The position is ideal for an early-career professional eager to grow into a strategic finance leader, offering direct exposure to executive stakeholders and significant growth potential. The role is based in the San Francisco HQ and reports to the Director, GTM Finance & Strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills; comfortable building models from scratch.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clearly, present confidently, and simplify complex points.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a bias toward structure; ability to organize messy problems.
  • Willingness to ask questions, take feedback, and iterate quickly.
  • High ownership mentality; ability to follow through, flag issues early, and take initiative.
  • Actively uses AI tools to simplify and accelerate work; curious about AI possibilities and seeks ways to do more with less.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure to track GTM performance across revenue, spend, and operational efficiency.
  • Support quarterly and annual planning cycles, including bottoms-up revenue forecasts, headcount modeling, and budget development in partnership with GTM leadership.
  • Own budget vs. actual analysis and business commentary for the assigned GTM segment, explaining performance drivers and recommending actions.
  • Conduct analysis on key GTM financial drivers such as pipeline coverage, rep capacity/productivity, churn, and PS delivery efficiency, distilling findings into actionable narratives.
  • Collaborate with RevOps, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure data integrity and alignment between operational metrics and financial results, maintaining critical reporting infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake ARR reporting model).
  • Draft memos and slides to communicate complex findings clearly to various audiences, including the CFO.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc strategic projects, adapting to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deeply learn the business, understanding the operational and commercial context behind the financial numbers.
