About The Position

The Sr. Field Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of engineers tasked at delivering new product introductions (NPIs) to major ZT customers. This will include execution and enablement of products through the qualification life cycle, including power on, debug, triage of issues and resolution for on time delivery. The role will include customer relationship management, setting and meeting commitments, and direct 1st line engineering team management. Management of functional roles include validation engineering, product management, and systems engineering. The role will interact heavily with internal engineering, design, and product teams to define deliverables, push priorities and deliver results. The ultimate goal of the Sr. Field Engineering Manager is to delight the customer with exceptional NPI execution and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required, or advanced degree with equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience.
  • Creative leader with superior analytical abilities.
  • Strong problem solving and technical skills to earn trust and influence partners and teams.
  • Knowledge of server hardware development process and lifecycle.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with both internal partners and external clients.
  • Hands on computer hardware and/or technical support experience is a required.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary owner on behalf of the field engineering organization for the NPI functions related to the customer which you would be responsible for.
  • Continuously build and leads a team of engineers focusing on delivering NPIs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, design, program management, to deliver and execute NPI for the customer.
  • Identify and routinely uses the most effective and cost-efficient business practices to execute processes. Continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.
  • Exercise independent judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status to senior management.
  • Troubleshoots relatively complex problems and issues.
  • Ensures employee compliance with Company policies, procedures and practices.
