About The Position

The Sr Federal and State Compliance Associate is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state rules and filing requirements for all RWE assets.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or related quantitative discipline. Work experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience in power markets with proven ability to achieve daily and assigned tasks or applicable work experience
  • Expertise and knowledge of Protocols/Tariffs in any of the following ISOs/RTOs: AESO, CAISO, ERCOT, ISO-NE, MISO, NYISO and PJM
  • Expertise and knowledge of Protocols/Tariffs for public utility commissions, especially for CPUC and PUCT
  • Expertise and knowledge of Protocols/Tariffs with federal agencies such as EIA, NERC, and FERC
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage Federal and State agency contact relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant Federal and State tariffs and regulations
  • Track assigned compliance tasks, ensuring deadlines are met and documentation is accurate
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of reports to regulatory bodies such as FERC, DOE, EIA, and state agencies such as utility commissions
  • Implement administrative controls to support assigned compliance processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data for compliance submissions
  • Identify process improvements to streamline compliance workflows
  • Monitor Federal and State tariff updates to remain current with policies
  • Adhere to company safety policies, operational procedures, and compliance standards
