About The Position

This position is for a Senior Facilities Engineer supporting Lockheed Martin operations in a production environment at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This individual will participate in management of calibration and precision cleaning as well as maintenance and repair of Orion mechanical ground support equipment at KSC. Responsibilities will also include working extensively in SAP software to ensure service orders, production orders, work orders, maintenance notes that capture problems or corrective action, and strategies are developed, released, dispositioned and closed. Individual will also be required to generate electronic material requests and track material receipts.

Requirements

  • Experience managing maintenance of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment
  • Experience with documenting and disposition of failed or non-conformance equipment
  • Experience with fluid systems (liquids and gases)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Production stakeholder
  • Ability to obtain Ground Processing Equipment Controller (GPEC) certification (Training and data base access within 90 days)
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and weekends / off shifts
  • Must be able to navigate around equipment and facilities infrastructure aligning to the roles and responsibilities of this position, including climbing stairs, ladders, etc. in order to access the various areas/tooling/equipment required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows products including Power Point, Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experienced as a project manager responsible for managing the technical, budgetary and schedule performance
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NASA KSC Operations and Checkout Building is preferred
  • Experience with operation of environmental testing equipment (both thermal and altitude simulation)
  • Experience with operation and troubleshooting of HVAC systems (air handlers and chillers)
