About The Position

The Fabrication Lead directs the fabrication and assembly of pipe products. This role involves managing all Work Orders associated with fabrication, supervising a work team in the planning and execution of a wide variety of fabrication tasks, and planning resource requirements based on Work Orders and the production plan. The lead is responsible for fostering a spirit of teamwork, tracking and monitoring work orders, and ensuring the timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement. A strong emphasis is placed on safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring adherence to HSE programs, including Lock-out Tag-out. The role also involves training employees on safety regulations and work policies, developing team members' skills, ensuring required training completion, and fostering a respectful and professional work environment. Additionally, the lead provides insights to other departments for overall shop performance and process improvement, ensuring all quality and industry standards are met, and proactively identifying and solving problems.

Requirements

Understanding the production and Work Order process
Managing people
High school diploma
Two years of pipe or structural fabrication experience

Responsibilities

Fabricate pipes to required customizations
Manage all Work Orders associated with fabrication
Supervises work team in the planning and execution of a wide variety of fabrication.
Plans resource requirements based on Work Orders and production plan.
Fosters a spirit of teamwork within the department.
Tracks, assigns, and monitors work orders.
Ensure timeliness, safety and quality of material movement.
Responsible for safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring work crews follow safe practices and HSE programs, including Lock-out Tag-out.
In conjunction with the Production Supervisor and EHS Manager, trains employees on changes in safety regulations, work policies, and standards.
Develops skills and abilities of team members.
Ensures all department employees complete the required training.
Ensures and encourages a respectful and professional work environment.
Builds a culture of consummate professionalism throughout all operations.
Leads and provides valuable insight and information to other leads and departments as required for overall shop performance and process improvement.
Ensures all quality and industry standards are achieved accordingly.
Identifies and provides effective solutions to problems and issues before they occur.
Any other duties as assigned by TAS.
