About The Position

We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic Senior Meetings & Events Manager to serve as a dedicated resource supporting our client, The Episcopal Church (DFMS). This role will be responsible for full-scale meeting and event management, client communications, and internal departmental coordination across a variety of programs and event types. This position assumes ownership for the end-to-end success of assigned projects and will serve as a strategic and operational partner to the client, helping to ensure continuity, excellence, and proactive problem-solving across their meetings and events portfolio. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, Business, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field
  • 10+ years of event planning and meeting management experience, including hands-on oversight of core event logistics for programs ranging from 20 to 10,000+ attendees
  • Proven success managing complex live events with multiple stakeholders and high-touch client relationships
  • Strong understanding of event industry standards and operational best practices, including: Venue contracting and concessions, Housing room block management, Catering and food & beverage minimums, Room set management & AV production coordination, Registration workflows and attendee management
  • Experience managing budgets with direct financial ownership, accountability, and reconciliation responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional project management skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills with a flexible, creative, and solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • A service-minded, proactive, and ownership-driven mentality
  • Flexibility and willingness to support team priorities beyond defined responsibilities

  • familiarity with event management systems such as Cvent, Passkey, or similar platforms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive specific deliverables and components for meetings and events from concept through execution, utilizing best practices, internal resources, and vendor partnerships
  • Serve as a trusted and valued day-to-day resource for the client, building strong relationships and providing proactive consultation
  • Manage the RFP process for vendors including venues, catering, transportation, signage, production, and related event services
  • Collaborate with client and internal teams to create project plans, production schedules, project estimates, workback timelines, and meeting agendas
  • Facilitate project planning meetings and provide proactive communication to manage expectations around deliverables and timelines
  • Conduct venue sourcing, site inspections, and destination recommendations aligned with event goals and requirements
  • Oversee meeting management logistics including but not limited to: Food & Beverage, Meeting space planning, Housing and room blocks, Transportation, Executive meetings, Special events and receptions, Signage and graphics, Security coordination, Space management, Onsite staffing and logistics
  • Liaise with Nth Degree registration and event technology teams to provide insight on projects
  • Participate in editing, proofing, and review of relevant event-related communications and materials
  • Manage assigned portions of master event timelines and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Identify project risks early and escalate appropriately to resolve issues proactively
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure recommendations and execution align with client expectations and strategic goals
  • Interface directly with clients, vendors, internal departments, and executive stakeholders
  • Attend and lead client meetings, planning calls, and onsite program execution
  • Actively contribute to Nth Degree culture and team collaboration
  • Other duties as assigned
