About The Position

The Sr. Environmental Services Technician supports daily facility operations for the Detroit Pistons by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The role provides hands-on leadership, training, and support to the Environmental Services team, working with EVS leadership to coordinate priorities, uphold operational standards, and prepare facilities for players, coaches, staff, and guests. The technician may serve as Acting Supervisor when designated.

Requirements

• Previous experience in environmental services, custodial operations, housekeeping, or facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, equipment operation, and workplace safety practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable and proactive, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience training, mentoring, or providing guidance to team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning, sanitization, and facility maintenance across offices, restrooms, practice courts, locker rooms, training areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to EVS technicians and promote consistent cleaning and safety standards.
• Assist EVS leadership with daily assignments, workflow coordination, quality inspections, and operational priorities.
• Serve as Acting Supervisor when designated to help ensure continuity of daily operations.
• Operate floor scrubbers and other specialized cleaning equipment while following established safety procedures.
• Maintain specialty areas, including player and coaches' locker rooms, weight rooms, saunas, steam rooms, and practice courts.
• Support event setup, facility conversions, laundry operations, waste removal, and supply replenishment.
• Assist with post-game cleaning of the Pistons Player Locker Room at Little Caesars Arena.
• Follow OSHA guidelines, organizational policies, and EVS standard operating procedures.
• Lead by example and foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
