A Day in the Life This Sr. Engineering Manager position is responsible for leading a functional engineering group that supports market released products in Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM). This Engineering Group focuses on therapy delivery systems associated with implanted devices and associated leads, catheters, guidewires, related accessories, and applications. The role entails management of a team that 1) drives product quality & performance through processes that include CAPA, RPI, change management & continuity 2) provides engineering support for post-market submissions, renewals, regulation changes, support for inspections and design change projects and 3) investigates and implements changes on released products to improve gross margin. In addition, the role has responsibility for chairing the Therapy Delivery Design CAPA Board. This entails working with CAPA owners on strategy, successful execution of CAPA projects, and ensuring periodic review of CAPA progress at CAPA Board meetings. This position reports to the Sr. Director of the Released Product Engineering organization, interfaces with employees at all levels of the CRM business and works across functions and facilities to drive resolution of issues and continuous improvement. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree AND minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience OR Advanced degree AND minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and implement all aspects of the company's design and development of released medical device products
  • May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products
  • Oversee the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies
  • Guide the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products
  • Monitor documentation maintenance throughout all phases of the product lifecycle
  • Organize the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery
  • Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
