About The Position

This is a senior leadership role within the System Technologies and Adaptive Intelligence (STAI) team in Gas Power Engineering (GPE). STAI’s vision is to bring together engineering, data, and artificial intelligence to drive cleaner, more flexible power solutions and to enable new capabilities, new operating models, and new ways of creating value across GPE. We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to drive operational rigor, Lean deployment, and quality management across the STAI organization, while helping shape priorities and improve execution across the team. The person in the Sr. Engineering Manager, Operations, Lean and Quality role will provide leadership across STAI’s operating rhythms, quality systems, Lean roadmap, and execution management, working closely with STAI team leaders, Gas Power Engineering partners, Product Line leadership, Digital Technology, Finance, HR, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Through this role, we will strengthen how STAI plans, reviews, measures, and improves its work across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Customers & Strategy, and Culture, while building standard work, improving visibility to key performance indicators, and driving disciplined follow-through on the organization’s most important priorities. This role will help translate leadership vision into clear priorities, operating mechanisms, and actionable plans across System Technologies (SysTech), Pillar Engineering Tools (PET), Engineering AI (EngAI), and Advanced Design Tools (ADT). The leader will act as a force multiplier for the STAI leadership team by improving execution discipline, enabling data-driven decision making, driving continuous improvement through Lean and quality practices, and helping the organization scale in a way that is measurable, sustainable, and aligned with the GE Vernova Way.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
At least 10 years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within engineering, digital technology or other technical environment.

Deep understanding of engineering operations, operating rhythms, and execution management within a complex technical organization, along with a track record of improving quality, delivery, cost, and organizational effectiveness across multiple teams.
Hands-on experience with Lean, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies, including use of Plan, Do, Check, Act to strengthen operating mechanisms, standard work, and kaizen activity.
Expertise in building, improving, or managing quality systems, governance mechanisms, standards, policies, procedures, and performance measures within an engineering or technical environment.

Experience serving as a strategic partner to senior leaders by synthesizing information, framing decisions, and moving critical initiatives forward, along with success leading organizational change and improving operating models in sustainable ways.
Strong communication and people leadership skills, including the ability to influence at all levels, engage technical and non-technical stakeholders, coach and develop talent, foster an inclusive environment, and work effectively across global teams and complex organizational boundaries in alignment with the GE Vernova Way.

Responsibilities

Own STAI’s operating rhythms and execution management across the organization, including planning cycles, reviews, and follow-through on key priorities and commitments.
Ensure management review mechanisms surface leading indicators, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs so they can be discussed and acted on effectively.
Translate STAI leadership vision and business priorities into clear execution plans, operating mechanisms, and measurable actions across SysTech, PET, EngAI, and ADT.
Connect STAI execution plans and operational priorities to broader Gas Power and Product Line planning processes, including MGTP and MGPP inputs where applicable.
Drive operational rigor across STAI’s six priorities — Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Customers & Strategy, and Culture — ensuring performance visibility, timely problem solving, and disciplined action planning.
Track, trend, and activate actions related to key organizational performance indicators, while helping leaders address gaps and sustain improvements over time.
Establish, monitor, and activate key performance indicators across the STAI organization, including business, functional, organizational, and team-level measures, to improve execution, predictability, and accountability.
Provide data, analysis, synthesis, and recommendations that support leadership decision making and help the STAI leadership team stay focused on strategic direction, technical priorities, and business-critical outcomes.
Guide the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of STAI’s quality management system, including standards, policies, procedures, governance, and related operating mechanisms that improve consistency and quality in how work is performed.
Help shape and maintain standards for how budgeting is performed, tracked, trended, and actioned, as well as how quality and Lean operating mechanisms are implemented across STAI.
Drive STAI’s Lean roadmap and kaizen calendar, using Lean methodologies and a Plan, Do, Check, Act mindset to identify waste, improve standard work, strengthen daily management, and build sustainable continuous improvement capability across the organization.
Champion a culture of safety, compliance, ethical behavior, Lean thinking, and continuous improvement in all aspects of the role.
Partner with STAI leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning, capacity management, resource allocation, and delivery predictability across the portfolio.
Collaborate across Gas Power Engineering, Product Line leadership, ITR and equipment teams, ARC, Digital Technology / IT, Finance, HR, and external partners or contractors to remove barriers, align priorities, and enable successful execution.
Oversee the operating mechanisms used to track and manage budgets, resource plans, vouchering data, and other financial measures, ensuring deliverables and budgets are actively managed, fulfilled, and escalated as needed.
Facilitate forums and processes that support financial and operational decision making, including emerging request reviews, budget tracking, trend analysis, and recommendations for action.
Strengthen organizational health by identifying and addressing structural, communication, process, and execution gaps that create friction or limit team effectiveness.
Serve as a strategic partner to the STAI Senior Director and leadership team by driving alignment, preparing decision-quality insights, and advancing critical initiatives that cut across multiple organizations and do not sit neatly within a single team.
Lead and develop a team, fostering an inclusive environment that supports growth, accountability, continuous improvement, and strong alignment to the GE Vernova Way.
