About The Position

The Tools Leader for the GE Onshore Wind System Simulation team leads the strategy development and execution for all simulation tool platforms. This leader will direct activity that contributes to the design and development of wind turbine products, solutions and systems, and the corresponding ecosystem necessary to perform this development. This role will report to the System Simulation Leader for Onshore Wind.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering tools development
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading teams
  • May require travel up to 10% of time

  • Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute one global engineering tools strategy for the System Simulation team through engagement with all other System Simulation teams
  • Direct engineering activity on the OneWind platform of engineering tools
  • Direct engineering strategy and standards for all engineering tools owned by the System Simulation & System Validation team
  • Drive strategic efficiency improvements with upstream and downstream interfaces
  • Influence and execute the vision, strategic priorities, and ensure alignment across the global System Simulation & System Validation team
  • Work with other System Simulation teams in active council, sharing lessons learned, processes, procedures, etc.
  • Drive a culture that ensures and delivers outstanding product quality
  • Ensure timely resolution of quality and performance issues
  • Implement operating mechanisms to deliver on commitments and close the product feedback loop
  • Develop and drive a comprehensive training strategy for software development across the System Simulation team
  • Lead global contracting teams for software development across System Simulation & Systems Validation team
  • Manage Wind Engineering AWS budget including forecasting, cost reduction and ownership of cyber security patching and maintenance
