About The Position

The Sr Engineer - Workday role is within Target's Human Resources product group in Target Technology Services. Target is undertaking one of the largest Workday implementations globally. In this role, you will be part of a scrum team responsible for prototyping, designing, building, and supporting features within Workday. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to utilize state-of-the-art technologies beyond Workday to enhance business value and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday development experience building, extending, integrating, and supporting technical solutions on the Workday platform
  • Experience with multiple Workday development or integration capabilities such as Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, or Workday Web Services
  • Exposure to modern Workday platform capabilities such as Workday Extend or Workday Orchestrate
  • Strong experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, and REST APIs

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert in the scrum team supporting the product.
  • Develop and gain insight into application architecture.
  • Distill abstract architecture into concrete design and influence implementation.
  • Apply appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems.
  • Design and implement architecture independently.
  • Influence fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation.
  • Demonstrate good problem-solving skills and assist the team in triaging operational issues.
  • Leverage expertise to eliminate repeat occurrences.
  • Prototype, design, build, and support features in Workday.
  • Leverage state-of-the-art technologies outside of Workday to drive business value and efficiency.
