About The Position

We're looking for highly motivated engineers with Workday experience to join our Human Resources product group within Target Technology Services. Target is one of the largest Workday implementations in the world, and as a part of a scrum team you will prototype, design, build, and support features in Workday. You will also be empowered to leverage state-of-the-art technologies outside of Workday to drive business value and efficiency.

Requirements

4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
3+ years of hands-on Workday development experience building, extending, integrating, and supporting technical solutions on the Workday platform, including experience with multiple Workday development or integration capabilities such as Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, or Workday Web Services, and exposure to modern Workday platform capabilities such as Workday Extend or Workday Orchestrate.
Strong experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, and REST APIs

Proficiency in Java
Experience in building highly scalable distributed systems
Strong problem-solving and thought partnership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with test-driven development and software test automation
Extensive experience working in an agile environment
HR business domain knowledge

Responsibilities

Serve as an expert in the scrum team that supports the product.
Help develop and gain insight in the application architecture.
Distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation.
Apply the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems.
Apply programming skills in developing the product.
Design and implement the architecture on your own, but choose to influence your fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation.
Show good problem-solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues.
Leverage expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.
Prototype, design, build, and support features in Workday.
Leverage state-of-the-art technologies outside of Workday to drive business value and efficiency.
