About The Position

T-Mobile is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering team and work on the T-Mobile for Business Order Management Platform, a next-generation platform built separately from the legacy T-Mobile stack. The platform supports onboarding and go-to-market strategies for core and non-core wireless offerings across product lines, customer segments, and sales channels. This hands-on leadership role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices; managing cloud infrastructure; and ensuring API performance for T-Mobile for Business Emerging Technology platforms and applications. The engineer will contribute to an agile team that values innovation, collaboration, and an open, Un-carrier approach.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience, or an advanced degree and 3 years of related experience. Acceptable fields include Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Management; equivalent experience in the field is also accepted.
4–7 years of technical engineering experience.
Strong software development and design experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, including AKS, App Services, Functions, and CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency with MongoDB.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk.
Familiarity with data authorization and security standards in enterprise-grade systems.
Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving, debugging, and system design skills.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills across multifunctional, geographically distributed teams.
Ability to mentor junior team members.
Excellent communication and customer service skills when collaborating with multifunctional team members.
System integration and technical writing skills.
Proven ability to design and deliver enterprise-scale distributed systems.
Track record of building and scaling platform services with real-world business impact.
At least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Background in telecommunications and supporting B2B organizations.
Background in subscription, product catalog, or order management systems.
4–7 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role preferred.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement scalable microservices for Emerging Technology platforms.
Ensure API-first design with high availability, security, and performance.
Develop automation for rule-based order flows and subscription lifecycle management.
Build and run event-driven systems, including consumers and asynchronous flows integrated with other systems.
Manage cloud-native deployments on Azure, with a focus on scalability and resilience.
Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and issue resolution to maintain high code quality.
Build and optimize the T-Mobile for Business Order Platform to support responsive and reliable order processing.
Support self-service and representative-assisted customer journeys with minimal fallout.
Integrate backend systems with Emerging Technology products.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to onshore and offshore developers, focusing on design quality and best practices.
