About The Position

Nationwide's Technology team is seeking passionate individuals to drive innovation and adopt new technologies. This role is critical in managing the ServiceNow platform for Nationwide, ensuring its stability, access, and workflows. The position involves managing the SDLC process, including update sets, environment deployment, and implementations. It also includes cloning environments, identifying and applying upgrades, patches, and plugins, and managing mid-servers and integrations (including APIs) with other applications. A key responsibility is license management, developing strategies for usage, removing inactive entitlements, and proactive monitoring to prevent exceeding licensing limits. The role also involves creating and updating UI policies, client scripts, business rules, and workflows, managing user accounts, roles, groups, and ACLs for secure data handling, and troubleshooting platform errors. Development and deployment of enterprise applications using the ServiceNow platform, including building scoped applications, custom workflows, and tailored modules, is also part of this role. This includes performing unit testing, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and collaborating with stakeholders, business analysts, and process owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) credential.
  • 1–3+ years handling day-to-day ServiceNow administration.
  • Foundational understanding of JavaScript, ITIL frameworks, and relational databases.
  • Experience with Angular, React, or similar modern UI frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with core ServiceNow domains (e.g., ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, CSM).
  • Solid understanding of ITIL framework and DevSecOps principles.
  • Problem-solving ability, clear communication, and agile mindset.
  • Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degrees are preferred. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
  • Two or more years of software engineering, analysis, or related technology experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to tackle moderately complex business and development problems.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing, configuring and maintaining the platform's stability, access, and workflows.
  • Management of the SDLC process including the management of update sets, environment deployment and implementations.
  • Cloning of environments from production to the lower environments
  • Identifying and applying upgrades, patches and plugins
  • Instrumental in the management of the mid-servers and integrations (including APIs) with other applications including discovery and event
  • Key resource for license management and developing strategies for managing license usage, removing inactive entitlements, proactive monitoring to ensure licensing is not exceeded
  • Creation and updating UI policies, client scripts, business rules, and workflows to align the system with organizational needs.
  • Access & Security Management: Manage user accounts, roles, groups, and Access Control Lists (ACLs) to ensure secure data handling.
  • Troubleshooting including diagnosing platform errors, and assist developers with advanced configurations.
  • Platform Development: Building scoped applications, custom workflows, and tailored modules within the ServiceNow environment.
  • Testing & Debugging: Perform unit testing, regression testing, and User Access Testing (UAT).
  • Collaboration: Work alongside stakeholders, business analysts, and process owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Analyze solutions, develop, test, debug, document, and deploy software according to standards and best practices.
  • Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Use DevSecOps practices, tooling, and techniques.
  • Drive continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice, and innovation.
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
