Sr. Engineer - Reliability

Magna International•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

The Reliability Engineer aids in evaluating products to establish their reliability. The role assists in determining product reliability by coordinating testing plans, test procedures, equipment usage and calibration, and the collection and analysis of test data. The engineer also assists with root-causing failure modes identified during reliability testing. The position works with internal and external testing services to align on costs, test flows, and activity timing. It develops and debugs testing equipment calibrations, including initializing automotive ADAS products through electronic communication methods such as I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, and Ethernet. The engineer uses standard engineering problem-solving methods to investigate test failures and develop internal standards and requirements from findings. Additional work includes tracking parts moving to and from test locations, using engineering statistics to characterize existing product performance and set future targets, decomposing customer requirements for automotive ADAS electronic modules, and supporting core and application program development as needed. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must have current and ongoing authorization to work in the United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or sufficient relevant work experience.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience involving the listed responsibilities in automotive development projects.
  • Current and ongoing authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in product development in any key engineering discipline.
  • Experience with statistical tools such as Minitab.
  • Experience with debugging or communication tools for electronic devices, including microcontrollers, imagers, and serializers.
