About The Position

The Sr Engineer Packaging assists with packaging-related projects, strategically directing the packaging design and development process. The role helps develop, maintain, and communicate processes to track and manage budgets for packaging delivered for new product launches, supporting Quality, Cost, and Timing objectives. The position works with project managers and purchasing engineers on all aspects of package development.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Typically, a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Ability to apply packaging best practices and understand how the role integrates with other areas to drive results.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a group or team, providing guidance to members in manufacturing, distribution, or product development.
Proven track record managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholder groups and internal and external resources.
Expertise in completing project expense and/or capital budget responsibilities.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of packaging.
Influence design and implement system solutions within packaging processes, with strategic impact on supply chain processes and systems.
Solve complex problems involving part-quality issues related to packaging and develop new perspectives on existing solutions.
Work independently with minimal guidance.
Act as a resource for less-experienced Packaging Engineers.
Manage ongoing activities and objectives and may lead projects or workstreams within a broader project.
Communicate difficult or sensitive information and build relationships with internal stakeholders and packaging suppliers.
Help develop, maintain, and communicate processes for tracking and managing packaging budgets for new product launches.
Work with project managers and purchasing engineers on package development.
