Sr Packaging Engineer
About The Position
The client is looking for an experienced Senior Packaging Engineer with 7+ years of experience developing and improving packaging solutions in manufacturing, food, consumer products, or related industries. This role involves developing, testing, validating, and launching new packaging solutions, with a strong emphasis on plastic injection molding, mold design, and tooling. The engineer will also manage packaging specifications, BOMs, testing, and validation, while working to improve packaging quality, production efficiency, sustainability, and cost. Collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams is essential, as is supporting packaging equipment installation, troubleshooting, and new product launches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of packaging engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with plastic injection molding and tooling.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, testing, and commercialization.
- Experience with packaging optimization software such as CAPE or TOPS.
- Familiarity with artwork management systems such as Esko WebCenter.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of FDA, FSMA, GMP, food safety, Lean Six Sigma, and sustainable packaging.
