Sr. Engineer II, Robotics Systems

ModernaTXNorwood, MA
Onsite

About The Position

The Senior Engineer – Robotics Systems (SE2-RS) is responsible for the integration and programming of software systems supporting robotics solutions associated with capital projects and deployment initiatives within Moderna’s manufacturing network, with a primary focus on Drug Substance (DS). The candidate should have strong knowledge of software and systems integration in the life sciences industry, with the ability to develop or review technical documentation such as functional specifications, interface definitions, and system architecture diagrams, as well as support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and support commissioning activities. The incumbent will be expected to learn manufacturing processes and apply digital and software technologies to enable connected, data-driven robotics systems, resulting in more efficient, traceable, and scalable operations. Experience in GMP manufacturing environments is highly desirable. This role supports the development of standardized and reusable software components and integration frameworks for robotics systems across sites. The SE-RS will maintain timeliness, accuracy, and thoroughness throughout the project lifecycle while contributing to multiple concurrent initiatives. The Senior Engineer will work closely with controls engineers, vendors, Digital teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver integrated and scalable robotics software solutions. Travel to support global project execution could be up to 25% during critical phases.
