About The Position

We’re looking for a mechanical engineer with experience in rotating equipment to support the long‑term reliability of our thermal generating fleet. In this role, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert for turbomachinery and critical rotating assets including gas turbines, steam turbines, boiler feed pumps, and auxiliary systems. You’ll lead or support complex troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analyses of equipment failures, and provide technical guidance during outages, startups, and abnormal operating events. This role is well‑suited for a mid- to senior‑career engineer who thrives on hands‑on problem solving, enjoys coaching others through sound engineering judgment, and seeks to play a key role in improving equipment reliability, availability, and safe operation across the fleet. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in engineering and 8 years related experience with a PE license. If no PE license, then 10 years industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, implements, and oversees inspection, maintenance, and testing tasks to properly maintain and protect critical power plant mechanical equipment, such as: Rotating Equipment: Gas Turbines and Steam Turbines, Pressure Equipment: Boilers, Power Piping, Pressure Vessels, and Safety Devices, Condensers, Pumps
  • Guides the development of operating and maintenance standards to improve operating reliability, flexibility, and efficiency of generating facilities.
  • Drives objectives and goals within the fleet.
  • Responds to equipment failures to understand the problem, determine the best solution, and implement the fix.
  • Provides engineering recommendations to improve the flexibility and resiliency of power plant components and systems.
  • Inspects and evaluates generating equipment and process conditions and prepares forward projections of operating and maintenance requirements to optimize production.
  • Provides training of operating, maintenance, and engineering staff as needed for power generation fleet.
  • Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
