About The Position

At NV Energy, we help sustain one of the greatest engineering achievements of all time—the modern electrical grid. Our teams keep Nevada’s power plants running safely, reliably, and efficiently so millions of customers can count on the energy they need every day. We’re looking for a mechanical engineer with experience in rotating equipment to support the long‑term reliability of our thermal generating fleet. In this role, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert for turbomachinery and critical rotating assets including gas turbines, steam turbines, boiler feed pumps, and auxiliary systems. You’ll lead or support complex troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analyses of equipment failures, and provide technical guidance during outages, startups, and abnormal operating events. This role is well‑suited for a mid- to senior‑career engineer who thrives on hands‑on problem solving, enjoys coaching others through sound engineering judgment, and seeks to play a key role in improving equipment reliability, availability, and safe operation across the fleet. Join a company that invests in innovation, values engineering excellence, and makes a direct impact on the communities we serve. Be part of the team that keeps Nevada’s lights on—and helps shape the future of energy.
