The Integrated Solutions, Modeling, and Architecture (ISMA) Directorate supports customer focused mission modeling and simulation activities for all customer areas at Raytheon. Our teams develop, analyze, and create flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas such as sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations. They develop tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements. The department has a tradition of excellence through innovation and teamwork while championing individuality in a flexible work environment to meet the needs of today’s workforce. As a member in the Cross-Domain and Space Operations Solutions Section, you will be joining a team of high-performing engineers focused on using simulation and analysis of current and future integrated space systems and capabilities (orbital and ground) across RTX to include Golden Dome Architectures and Space Based Intercept. This is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis of space vehicles and satellite constellations, including orbital dynamics, satellite constellation design, and satellite communications including link budget analysis.
  • Experience with the Ansys Systems Tool Kit (STK) or other multi-domain mission analysis, scenario modeling, and visualization for aerospace, defense, and other complex systems ie AGI STK (Systems Tool Kit, MathWorks MATLAB and Simulink, LtSim, OpenSceneGraph, Cesium, Cesium, VTK
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, analytical and communication skills for collaboration with peers and presentation to senior technical staff and customers.
  • Experience with Solis, Astrogator, and/or ODTK.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience with Raytheon owned Modeling and Simulation tools (e.g. OpsTool or RCADE) or Government/Industry Modeling and Simulation tools (e.g. Missile Tool Kit or AFSIM).
  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience with Java, C++ or equivalent programming language
  • Experience conducting analyses and studies, including how to define and execute a study and evaluate a new concept of operation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate end-to-end system requirements through CONOPS and Design Reference Missions (DRMs) to understand space and missile system integration interfaces and data connectivity across military kill-chains.
  • Provide modeling and simulation of satellites, constellations, and system-of-systems architectures
  • Support design and integration of mission data processing algorithms to improve detection, tracking, data correlation and data fusion
  • Develop and implement innovative model-based solutions to support mission trade studies and performance simulations.
  • Contribute knowledge of performance engineering practices and procedures to evaluate work across a wide range of computational problems across multiple domains.
  • Analyze data to understand performance requirements for integration of space and missile systems.
  • Develop analytical metrics to validate proposed architectures against missile and space systems requirements as well as help shape future tech growth.
  • Develop and implement algorithms to provide next-generation performance across entire system- of- systems to include the integration of space and missile systems.
