About The Position

This Sr. Employee Relations Advisor will be supporting our San Diego region, and must be able to be in office in San Diego 3 days per week. The Sr. Employee Relations Advisor provides strategic, consultative employee relations (ER) support to leaders and employees, partnering across Human Resources, Labor Relations, Legal, and operational leadership to resolve complex workplace issues. Leads or supports high-risk investigations, advises on performance management and corrective action, ensures consistent application of policies and employment law, and contributes to enterprise AR strategy, training, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Employee Relations and Labor Relations, and experience in a healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of professional level Human Resources Business Partner or Generalist experience or in lieu of five (5) years of experience, must demonstrate strong strategic and business skills and have successfully contributed towards or implemented new strategies beyond assigned client groups, across the enterprise.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Current in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to human resources and employee management, including worker’s compensation and federal and state employment laws.
  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills, decision-making and proven relationship skills.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
  • Sedentary - Very light energy level Lift 10 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) – seven (7) years of professional level Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Two (2) years’ healthcare experience.
  • Master’s degree in human resources or similar.
  • Experience in professional development and training a plus.
  • SHRM, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • California Driver’s License may be required based on assigned client groups.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to establish metrics and compliance standards to be aligned with emerging compliance trends and employment best practices.
