Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking a Sr. Employee & Labor Relations Advisor for a full-time position with 8-hour day shifts. This role supports Bakersfield, CA locations and may be assigned to one of the markets depending on operational needs. The position provides guidance, support, and expertise in employee & labor relations matters, including discipline, coaching, performance management, and HR policy interpretation. Key objectives include ensuring legal compliance and adherence to system policies and procedures in a consistent, objective, and fair manner. The advisor will guide managers and employees, investigate complaints, make recommendations, and ensure legal requirements are met. Collaboration with other HR team members across the Adventist Health system is expected for organizational needs and HR strategy implementation (e.g., change management, policy implementation). The role participates in the administration of labor relations programs, including contract interpretation, grievance processing, and discipline. It handles traditional labor questions, union organizing, interpretation of complex contract terms, policies, or rules, and discipline/employment-related issues. The advisor will provide direction to market HR teams, interact with local unions and business units, and serve as a liaison between leadership and local unions on various business aspects, including technological advances, new initiatives, legal changes, business strengthening efforts, and modifications to terms and conditions of employment for unionized associates.
