Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of industrial electronics or maintenance experience.
  • Experience with IGBT-based systems and power electronics.
  • Experience with high- and low-voltage systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Good math and analytical skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to Troubleshoot the following: Digital multimeters, clamp meters, Oscilloscopes (IGBT switching and waveform analysis), Meggers (insulation testing), IR cameras / thermal imaging, Temperature measurement tools (thermocouples, pyrometers), PLC/programming laptops and diagnostic software, Cooling system diagnostic tools
  • Ability to implement the following computer skills: Proficiency using CMMS systems (e.g., Leading2Lean), Ability to use PLC programming software (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), Experience with HMI interfaces, Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus), Ability to navigate electronic manuals and OEM software, Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Comfortable using laptops for diagnostics and system interfacing

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs induction heating equipment, including power supplies, inverters, and control systems.
  • Diagnoses and services power electronics systems, including IGBT modules, rectifiers, and inverter circuits.
  • Works safely with high-voltage systems (480V+) and low-voltage controls (24VDC, PLC I/O, instrumentation).
  • Inspects, maintains, and replaces induction coils, ensuring proper alignment, insulation, and cooling performance.
  • Identifies and resolves coil-related issues such as arcing, overheating, scaling, insulation breakdown, and shorting.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots water-cooling systems.
  • Reads and interprets electrical schematics and ladder logic.
  • Troubleshoots PLC systems, sensors, and feedback devices.
  • Maintains spare parts inventory and usage tracking within CMMS (Leading2Lean).
  • Documents work performed in CMMS (e.g., Leading2Lean).
  • Follows all electrical safety procedures, including LOTO and arc flash.
  • Contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.
  • Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all matters.
  • Other duties as required.
