About The Position

Lead the development of top-level electrical and electronic system architectures for Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) platforms from concept through integration. This role involves hands-on electrical design, including circuit and subsystem development, and conducting trade studies to drive data-informed design decisions. The engineer will define and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and subsystem requirements for system compatibility and performance, collaborating with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include guiding electrical integration, testing, and validation activities to ensure reliable, high-quality UAS system performance, supporting troubleshooting and root-cause investigations in complex electronic systems, and selecting components from prototype development through to productization. The role also requires developing and maintaining electrical subsystem requirements and documentation, designing PCBs using CAD tools (e.g., Altium), and working within aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments. There may be opportunities to participate in design for manufacturing/assembly and embedded software development. Ensuring compliance with system safety, EMI/EMC, and environmental qualification standards is crucial. The position may also involve leading or supporting cross-functional system architecture efforts as needed.
