About The Position

Marine Operational Test Squadron One (VMX-1) in Yuma, Arizona, has an opportunity for a CH-53K Operational Test and Evaluation Engineer. VMX-1 conducts operational tests and evaluations to ensure the effectiveness and suitability of Marine Corps aviation assets, which include UAS, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft. The Operational Test Engineer works closely with pilots and other subject matter experts from the Marine Corps and Navy to plan for test events, collect data, analyze results, and draft reports to ensure verified and validated operational requirements are met, and capabilities are effective and suitable. The applicant will support VMX-1 with integrating Electronic Warfare (EW) test systems and generate models and simulations of the latest RF (Radiofrequency) threats. This position is located in Yuma, AZ. Your future duties and responsibilities: . Support lab integration and simulation development scheduling . Develop EW threat simulation from EWIRDB for use with RF simulators . Providing expert guidance for RF simulation development and support simulation verification through testing . Research/develop emitters/modes RF threat simulation to run on RF simulator for testing of EW radar receiver . Produce emitter simulations using A2PATS (SimUI and SMB) and NEWEG infrastructure to replicate threat radars for static and dynamic scenarios. . Test/Validate the RF threat simulation against the latest intel report and provide test analysis report with recommendations . Supporting full HW/SW integration, conducting acceptance testing, validating system performance through systematic regression testing and comprehensive data analysis. . Developing and providing personnel training in the area of RF simulation and Intel database such as EWIRDB. . Create and maintain electrical system test strategy and test plans for various Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radio Frequency (RF) products. . Characterize wireless communication systems and devices. . Analyze and drive coverage and analysis of failures observed in integration, characterization, and system-level testing. . Integration testing of subassemblies and systems, including RF and digital hardware, firmware, embedded software, and application software. . Facilitate electrical system performance, calibration, durability, and environmental testing of developmental components and systems per test plan. . Develop and maintain test standards, design and develop test equipment, or procure and handle purchased test capital equipment to support test readiness. . Support and perform field testing and act as a liaison to conduct ground and flight testing. . Leverage data analysis and existing tools to reproduce and characterize failures. . Automate tests to enhance test coverage and ensure reproducibility and repeatability.
