We are currently searching for a Sr. Electro-Mechanical Technician join our team. This role will be performed on-site and is based at our headquarters in Chaska, MN. Please note: There is no relocation offered for this role. The ideal candidate will currently reside in the Greater Twin Cities Metropolitan area. The Senior Electromechanical Technician is responsible for independently performing a wide range of electrical and mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on medical devices, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards. With demonstrated proficiency, this role involves both independent work, mentorship, and collaboration with team members, contributing to the efficient functioning of the production process.

Requirements

  • At least five years of related assembly and/or electromechanical technician experience preferred
  • Excels in using electronics testing equipment and various fasteners, lubricants adhesives, and tools
  • Proficient ability in interpreting complex technical documentation, including schematic drawings, assembly diagrams, and bills of materials, ensuring accurate execution of work instructions
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and repetitive movement of both hands six to eight hours daily. Good manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. on an occasional basis are also required
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Office applications and basic PC skills
  • Excels in wiring electrical control and power systems on mechanical and hydraulic assemblies, ensuring seamless integration and optimal functionality
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills essential for interacting with personnel in the organization. Capable of articulating technical concepts clearly and concisely, fostering collaboration and understanding across teams
  • Possesses analytical skills to scrutinize and derive insights from test data and electrical test results, enabling informed decision-making
  • Effective mentorship skills, providing some guidance and training

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Certification to IPC / J-STD is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Independently assemble, wire, program, test and package electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Exceeds at conducting functional testing of various systems, subassemblies, and components, ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments as required, to resolve technical issues with minimal to no supervision
  • Proficient at analyzing results on defective units, document root causes of failure, and execute necessary repairs
  • Record discrepancies and quality defect reports in production documentation, maintaining accurate defect reports
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and relevant personnel to address production issues and recommend improvements
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives and aim to become a subject matter expert in all areas of production
  • Perform soldering of wires and terminals, including some through-hole components and minimal surface mount tasks
  • Assist in creating and editing written work instructions for clarity and effectiveness
  • Reports to the Production Manager

  • Support various projects ensuring timely delivery of tasks for project objectives
  • Prioritizes safety in all aspects of work, maintaining a vigilant awareness of safety protocols and procedures to promote a secure work environment for oneself and others
