About The Position

A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 10-15 years of work experience as a licensed engineer is required for this role. The individual will serve as the Engineer of Record in several states. This position is responsible for implementing engineering projects, including the creation of Construction Documents, coordination with other disciplines, Permitting, Bidding, and Construction Administration in accordance with client requirements and code. The role ensures a high level of quality assurance on all products, such as Construction documents, specifications, and RFI responses. The individual will research, develop, and stay updated with the latest designs in coordination with vendors, senior engineers, and other online resources. Excellent knowledge of discipline-specific and other building codes is essential, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Good leadership skills are needed to educate clients on design and other project requirements. The engineer will meet with the Project Architect and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues. They will also estimate discipline man-hours required for design completion and serve as the main point of contact for projects with clients, contractors, and consultants with limited input from the Project Manager or Principal. The role involves ensuring coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines, overseeing the design and production of engineering construction documents and specifications, and maintaining Cuhaci & Peterson and/or client standards. The engineer will anticipate and resolve issues, provide ongoing quality control, obtain and perform peer reviews of documents, oversee project budget setup, and communicate owner revisions and RFIs. They will assist in representing the client’s interests at public hearings and meetings, provide customer service to maintain client relationships, and mentor and train engineering designers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10-15 years of work experience as a licensed engineer
  • Engineer of Record in several states
  • Excellent knowledge of discipline specific codes and other building codes
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the main point of contact for a project or series of projects with one or several clients, the contractor and the consultants with limited input required from the Project Manager or Principle.
