About The Position

Cuhaci Peterson is seeking experienced electrical engineering professionals to join its Ambler, PA office in two on-site roles: Electrical Project Engineer and Senior Electrical Project Engineer. Both positions focus on electrical building systems design, engineering calculations, construction documents, code compliance, multidisciplinary coordination, quality assurance, and client communication across a wide range of commercial project types. The Electrical Project Engineer role is best suited for a licensed PE with 8+ years of experience who can independently design systems, lead assigned engineering tasks, coordinate with project teams, and mentor designers. The Senior Electrical Project Engineer role is designed for a more senior licensed engineer with 10-15+ years of experience who can serve as Engineer of Record in several states, lead project implementation, act as a primary client and consultant contact, oversee construction documents and specifications, and provide senior-level quality control throughout project delivery.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Minimum 8 years of electrical engineering experience
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, discipline-specific codes, and applicable building codes
Proficiency in Revit, engineering modeling tools, Microsoft Office, and related design platforms
Ability to guide designers, educate clients, and support project teams
Excellent verbal, written, and client-facing communication skills
Strong time management, judgment, critical thinking, and ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality
Minimum 10-15 years of electrical engineering experience as a licensed engineer
Ability to serve as Engineer of Record in several states
Advanced knowledge of electrical codes, discipline-specific standards, and building codes
Experience leading electrical engineering project implementation from design through construction administration
Ability to serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
Strong ability to oversee construction documents, specifications, RFIs, peer reviews, and technical deliverables
Revit, AutoCAD, engineering modeling tools, Microsoft Office, and related platforms
Ability to mentor designers, lead teams, negotiate, resolve conflicts, and manage personnel resources

Candidates must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, handle stressful situations, multitask, and work under reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical engineering calculations and design electrical systems in accordance with established standards, procedures, codes, and project requirements
Independently resolve design problems, coordination issues, and project conflicts with minimal supervision
Meet with Project Engineers and Project Managers to review design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and review comments
Prepare or support discipline design budgets, schedules, and man-hour estimates
Lead assigned design efforts and supervise designated designers to help complete projects on time and within budget
Implement selected system types and produce complete construction documents aligned with client and project team requirements
Coordinate preliminary and final engineering designs with other disciplines for function, clearances, constructability, and final design selection
Perform final review of engineering drawings and support project quality assurance
Maintain client contact and educate clients on design and project requirements
Mentor and motivate Engineering Designers I, II, and III
Maintain professional integrity while acting in the best interests of the company and client
Lead electrical engineering projects from design through construction administration, including construction documents, discipline coordination, permitting, bidding, RFIs, specifications, and quality assurance
Serve as the main point of contact for assigned projects or client programs with limited input required from the Project Manager or Principal
Oversee the design and production of engineering construction documents and specifications
Ensure deliverables meet client requirements, code requirements, Cuhaci Peterson standards, and project quality expectations
Coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines throughout project delivery
Meet with Project Architects and Project Managers to review design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and review items
Estimate discipline man-hours and oversee project budget setup and completion of assigned scope within allotted time
Anticipate and resolve technical, coordination, budget, and schedule issues as they arise
Provide ongoing quality control and perform or obtain peer reviews of project documents
Communicate owner revisions, RFI responses, and technical direction clearly and promptly
Assist in representing client interests at public hearings and meetings as needed
Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and customer service
Research and stay current with evolving design practices, vendor resources, code requirements, and technical standards
Mentor and train engineering designers to produce high-quality construction documents within allotted budgets
