Sr. Electrical Engineering Design Technician
About The Position

The Role: You will test, rework and debug printed circuit boards, build experimental setups for design testing of high-speed electromechanical assemblies for new product development. You will be a vital contributor to the development of new laser engraving and inkjet printing products and work in a new group of talented engineers within a well-established multinational company.
Requirements
- an associate’s degree and 10+ years of professional experience
- Experience reworking PCBs, solder to add or remove components
- Experience with at least one data acquisition system
- Use of lab equipment (Oscilloscope, DVM, Function generator, soldering station, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Debug under the guidance of an Engineer
- Attention to details
- Eagerness to learn new skills and new tools
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- MSOffice tools
Nice To Haves
- Altium designer
- Simple mechanical machining skills
- Some 3D mechanical CAD experience
- Programming of motor drives
- Jr. level layout and design of PCBs
Responsibilities
- Debug and design validation of board and system level electronic designs
- Design validation testing (major focus on electronics)
- Conduct testing of mechanical, electrical, and optical components, subsystems and systems
- Document experimental conditions and test results
- Build prototypes and test fixtures; interface with external vendors for complex parts
- Inspect incoming parts
- Manage lab and lab equipment, including calibration
- Effectively interact with other members of the technical team to create a safe, fun, and productive work environment
