About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Design & Engineering team within the North America Places group. This role is part of the Places Global Business Area (GBA), which focuses on creating, supporting, and enhancing smart, safe, and sustainable places for living, working, learning, and thriving. The team works on various developments including Data Centers, Transit Facilities, Commercial and Retail, Mixed-Use Residential, Institutional/Educational, and Social Infrastructure. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing high-quality electrical engineering solutions, including building-level power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and controls. The position offers flexible working hours and is based in the Dallas area to support the Retail architectural practice. The role requires technical expertise, client interaction skills, and the ability to deliver sustainable and high-quality project documentation.

Requirements

  • 10+ or more years’ relevant MEP experience within the Retail practice landscape.
  • Professional Engineer in Texas.
  • Ability to communicate both internally and externally regarding client needs/desires and technical solutions.
  • Comfort and confidence in client-facing discussions.
  • Experience working with projects that utilize Fundamental knowledge of Autodesk Platforms and other digital design tools including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or Building Information Modelling (BIM) engineered solutions.
  • BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct working experience on past projects with Arcadis (including legacy CRTKL and IBI) architects.
  • Experience in full-service consulting design firms and coordination with in-house A/E resources.
  • Adaptable to new digital tools such as AI in an effort to understand how delivery must change over the short and medium term.
  • Practical Sustainability and carbon reduction experience.
  • Experience with urban environments implementing transformative solutions.
  • Experience with user-experience-centric-type projects requiring narrow engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sustainable electrical engineering expertise, including developing engineering reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Engage with organizations and clients in the region to identify and take ownership of project opportunities.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset by contributing to opportunity pursuit, strategy creation, client relationships, and delivery innovation.
  • Possess operational knowledge including commercial strategy acumen in pursuits and fee creation, and understanding/tracking of financial success.
  • Understand global ways of working and possess soft skills for success in multicultural environments, with the ability to work with teammates globally.
  • Manage relationships and mentor/train colleagues to spread expert knowledge as the location-based team expands.
  • Travel up to 20%, which may include overnight stays.
