Sr. Electrical Engineer

Hargrove and Associates•Greenville, SC

About The Position

The Sr. Electrical Engineer performs complete design for complex electrical and instrumentation engineering assignments, applying advanced engineering techniques and analysis under general supervision. The role may serve as discipline lead on small- to mid-sized projects and provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering and drafting personnel. It coordinates work across team members and disciplines while supporting delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. The position develops estimates, material take-offs, calculations, sketches, specifications, layouts, and detailed electrical and instrumentation design documents. Work includes electrical systems and equipment, installation details, motor control and power plans, grounding and lighting, instrumentation, control systems, and construction documents. The engineer checks calculations and drawings, reviews vendor and construction submittals, supports procurement, performs fieldwork, and provides startup and construction assistance. The role also estimates and schedules professional service hours, assesses work progress and quality, and may lead interoffice execution support. The role requires a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant industrial experience. Professional Engineer registration is highly preferred. The position requires knowledge of applicable electrical and instrumentation codes and standards, strong design and calculation capabilities, familiarity with CAD and Microsoft Office tools, and effective technical, communication, and leadership skills. The position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
