About The Position

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Component Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. This position may also be performed remotely within the U.S. As part of the Product Assurance group, we are responsible for the selection and qualification of all Electrical, Electronic, Electromagnetic (EEE) parts and materials for Lanteris' LEO, GEO and special purpose Spacecrafts. Our group also writes the high-level space related process requirements for Lanteris. This role is specifically oriented toward engineering of semiconductor type electronic devices associated with their development, procurement, and testing. As a diverse group of engineers, the role will require taking on task associated with a variety of other EEE parts. In this role, you will be a member of the Parts, Materials and Processes team. The team is responsible for all EEE parts, all materials and process used to build a variety of space vehicles. You will be responsible for the investigation, qualification and approval of different types of electronic parts mostly related to semiconductors and will investigate and resolve issues that may arise during the use of already approved parts. This approval of parts or investigation of issues may also involve travel to various places around the world to complete the task. To be successful in this position, you must be able to work well with others, communication effectively and be able to fully document the issues and resolution. Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline/STEM field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 8 years work experience with semiconductor device development, test, and manufacturing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn how to use custom database programs

  • Hands-on person – capable of understanding the issues and performance of semiconductor devices and use sound engineer practices to find appropriate solutions to issues.
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills, which include customer communication and technical writing

  • Knowledge of NASA-STD-873910 is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with RF, Power and Controls Design engineers to understand performance and use requirements
  • Write and review parts procurement documents for high power EEE parts
  • Work with parts suppliers to define screening, qualification, packaging, etc. to be performed by the manufacturer
  • Maintain existing database of parts
  • Review test data and process flow documents for compliance to requirements
  • Assist other groups in performing upgrade testing
  • Data analysis and binning for performance levels
  • Work within a team and be flexible to take on tasks outside of your comfort zone
