About The Position

The Senior Electrical Designer is responsible for developing and coordinating electrical design deliverables for assigned projects, ensuring technical accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with project requirements. This role supports project execution through cross-functional collaboration, design documentation, field support, and guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in electrical design within an industrial, manufacturing, consulting, or project-based environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical design and drafting software, such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and safe design practices.
  • Experience preparing drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and construction or installation documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and mentoring skills.

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and installation drawings.
  • Interpret project requirements, drawings, and customer specifications into practical design solutions.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, cable routing, and layout reviews to support system design.
  • Prepare design packages, specifications, bills of materials, and construction documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and engineering practices.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate redlines, field changes, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain drawing revisions, as-built documentation, and design records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate electrical design activities with mechanical, controls, process, and project teams.
  • Manage assigned design deliverables to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to review technical submittals, equipment data, and material selections.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
  • Support site visits, field verification, and troubleshooting to validate designs and resolve installation issues.
