About The Position

We're looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to help drive a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll partner with employees, managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to identify risks, strengthen safety programs, investigate incidents, and lead initiatives that protect our people, facilities, and operations. Requirements

  • 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Experience interacting directly with regulatory agencies and compliance auditors.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA / Cal-OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing and implementing EHS programs and training initiatives.
  • Strong communication, presentation, project management, and organizational skills.
  • HAZWOPER (40-Hour) Certification or recent HAZWOPER training
  • California Title 22 Hazardous Waste Generator Training
  • DOT Hazardous Materials Shipping Training (49 CFR)
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training and Program Administration Experience
  • Technical certificate, vocational training, or equivalent experience in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to occasionally respond to after-hours emergencies or critical facility issues.
  • U.S. Person status required for access to ITAR-controlled information.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience in a publicly traded company.
  • Experience supporting lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading Emergency Response Teams (ERT).
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance and building systems.
  • Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHMM, or CIH.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and industry best practices to maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform facility risk assessments and identify opportunities to improve workplace safety.
  • Manage hazardous waste and environmental compliance activities.
  • Review new chemicals, materials, and process changes through environmental impact review procedures.
  • Maintain required permits, reports, records, and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Facilitate Safety Committee activities.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts.
  • Conduct emergency response drills and training exercises.
  • Develop and facilitate EHS training programs.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and education.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to employees and leadership on EHS matters.
  • Manage PPE procurement and inventory.
  • Support contractor management and facility-related services.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs and facility compliance activities.
