About The Position

Vertiv is hiring a Sr. Director, Procurement – Infrastructure Solutions to lead our Americas Infrastructure Solutions procurement organization during a period of accelerated, hyper-scale growth. Operating in a high-velocity, dynamic environment, this senior executive will lead a team of Category Managers and Project Procurement Leads. The ideal candidate is a decisive, high-impact leader who thrives amidst complexity and change. This individual quickly identifies the root causes of problems and formulates and executes rapid solutions, collaborating effectively with executive leadership to keep operations moving forward. The role is responsible for driving end-to-end category strategies, supplier performance, total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions, project execution, and supply chain readiness across Infrastructure Solutions projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline (MBA or Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of direct procurement and supply chain leadership experience in high-growth technology, industrial, data center, or critical infrastructure sectors.
  • 5+ years managing direct category areas (e.g., stainless steel piping, piping skids, metals, stampings, power and thermal products or categories, integrated rack solutions, or other data center modules).
  • 3+ years leading project management, project procurement cycles, or new product development (NPD) management.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize high-stakes activities, and deliver results in a rapidly expanding, highly dynamic market.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills across all levels of a matrixed enterprise.
  • Master-level grasp of total cost of ownership, capacity planning, and global supply chain design.
  • Demonstrated success in re-engineering procurement operations, establishing scalable systems, and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of category managers to develop and execute category strategies for One Core Components and integrated modules. Partner closely with global and other regional category teams, as well as key stakeholders across the Infrastructure Solutions business unit, ensuring regional plans fully align with global category strategies. Identify strategic suppliers both in the Americas and globally to deliver industry-leading cost, quality, lead time, and capacity availability—supporting rapid scaling and establishing a sustainable competitive advantage for Vertiv.
  • Direct, mentor, and scale a team of category managers and project procurement leads. Foster a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, speed, continuous improvement, and career development.
  • Serve as the primary procurement focal point for the Americas IS Regional Procurement. Collaborate seamlessly with Global Category Teams, Operations, Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) to drive aligned sourcing strategies, operational execution, and best practice deployment.
  • Act decisively to resolve critical supply chain disruptions, material shortages, and supplier capacity constraints. Conduct BOM risk assessments and implement robust mitigation strategies, including expanding dual-sourcing coverage to significantly reduce supply chain risk.
  • Cultivate high-value partnerships with strategic global and regional suppliers. Oversee major contract negotiations, long-term supply agreements, capacity reservations, and year-over-year cost-reduction pipelines.
  • Lead project procurement teams to drive critical deliverables, actively building the team's project management capabilities and instilling disciplined execution to ensure customer milestones are met on time, at target cost, and with minimal risk.
  • Deploy "should-cost" modeling, category benchmarking, value engineering, and low-cost country sourcing (LCCS) to deliver max value and margin expansion.
  • Partner with manufacturing plants and logistics teams to establish a lean, continuous flow of materials to production sites and directly to customers, optimizing the end-to-end supply chain to maximize delivery speed, flexibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor core KPIs across the projects, supplier quality, delivery performance, cost reduction, and working capital, driving targeted continuous improvement plans across all operational and financial metrics.
