About The Position

The Senior Director, Partnerships is a senior, quota-carrying revenue leader responsible for sourcing, developing, and closing sponsorship and strategic partnership opportunities across BMI's portfolio of live events, industry programs, digital platforms, and creator-driven initiatives. This role is central to monetizing BMI's access to artists and cultural moments through brand partnerships. The position is accountable for building a consistent pipeline of mid- to high-value partnerships and delivering against defined revenue targets. Each Senior Director focuses on designated industry verticals, developing deep expertise and relationships within those categories. The role plays a critical part in scaling BMI's sponsorship business through proactive business development, disciplined pipeline management, and effective deal execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7–10+ years in sponsorship sales, partnerships, or media/entertainment business development, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong sales and business development skills with a proven ability to close partnership deals.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and prioritize across multiple opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across brands, agencies, and partners.
  • Results-oriented, self-directed, and highly motivated.
  • Professional presence and ability to represent BMI in external, high-profile settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a robust pipeline of sponsorship opportunities within assigned verticals, with clear focus on revenue generation.
  • Sources new business through outbound outreach, industry networking, and strategic account development.
  • Builds and manages relationships with senior brand marketers, agencies, and corporate partners.
  • Prepares and presents customized proposals and sales materials aligned with partner objectives and BMI's assets — including live events, artist access, content platforms, and digital/social reach.
  • Negotiates sponsorship agreements in coordination with Legal/Business Affairs and senior leadership.
  • Achieves individual revenue targets and contributes to overall team performance.
  • Collaborates with Marketing & Activation and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of partnerships.
  • Maintains accurate pipeline, activity tracking, and forecasting using CRM tools.
  • Participates in regular pipeline reviews and provides clear reporting on deal status and revenue outlook.
  • Travel required (50%).
