About The Position

Walker Bowen Talent Partners is excited to partner with a scaling non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) health tech company as they continue to grow and invest in building a high-impact, people-first organization. We're searching for their Sr. Director of People - a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and evolving the People function during a period of meaningful growth. If you’re energized by building and strengthening people strategies, partnering closely with leadership, and creating an environment where teams can do their best work, while staying connected to a mission that improves access to care, we’d love to connect! Our client is a technology and services company dedicated to reducing barriers to care by improving the delivery of non-emergency medical transportation to people across America. Our client employs proprietary technology, paired with a nationwide network of vetted transportation providers. This enables payers and health systems to deliver cost-effective, on-demand transportation intelligently, enhancing the patient experience in the process. They serve the largest Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and provider programs in the country. We are seeking a Senior Director of People to be the operational driver of our client's HR function. This role is designed for a player / coach leader who excels at both personal task execution and broader team enablement. You will lead a small, dedicated team to achieve these goals. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who loves building the systems, policies, and day-to-day employee experience that help a company scale without breaking. As the Senior Director of People, you will bring consistency, transparency, and operational rigor to the entire employee lifecycle. From talent acquisition to employee relations, benefit administration, performance management, compliance, and culture, you are adept at supporting a distributed workforce that spans operations, technology, and healthcare services.

  • You are a "lead by doing" operator who is just as comfortable mapping out an interview process as you are jumping into BambooHR to fix a problem.
  • You instinctively look for ways to use AI and data to solve HR problems.
  • You have previously led high-performing, focused People/HR teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, payor/provider services, or care delivery models

Implement AI-driven automation and modern tooling to scale the HR function and enhance employee experience. Administer clear and equitable performance and compensation cycles that are easily understood by the employees.
  • Tactical recruiting support: partner with hiring managers to create strong hiring workflows, utilize AI-enhanced sourcing and screening tools to accelerate time-to-fill for leveraged and volume roles and manage 3rd party recruiters as needed.
  • Manager enablement: design and deploy training for our mid-level managers so they can effectively lead high-performing teams.
  • Employee Relations: act as the primary point of escalation for complex ER issues, resolving conflicts with fairness, strict compliance, and empathy.
  • SLT partnership: serve as a data-backed partner to the Senior Leadership Team. Use employee sentiment data and operational metrics to speak to organizational health and improve workforce outcomes.
