About The Position

Vantor is seeking a Senior Director of AI & Architecture to build and lead the company’s AI-enabled engineering foundation. This leader will own the development environment, platform architecture, and AI strategy for the organization, transforming AI from an experimental phase into a core operational capability. Reporting to the CIO, this role involves defining how engineering operates at Vantor, including the tools, platforms, and AI systems that enhance speed, scale, and differentiation. The position also requires acting as Vantor’s AI champion, integrating intelligent automation and agentic workflows across the business. This role demands a builder capable of operating at both executive and hands-on levels, with a proven history of leveraging emerging technology to achieve tangible results.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, enterprise architecture, or related technical leadership roles.
  • At least 2 years leading platform engineering, architecture, or AI-driven transformation initiatives.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working with cloud-native platforms, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering methodologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering enterprise technology solutions, including demonstrated success implementing AI solutions that achieve measurable business outcomes (not just pilots).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with large language models (LLMs), automation frameworks, AI/ML systems, or emerging AI architectures.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams, including distributed teams, and managing the scale, reliability, and performance of systems in growth environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical decisions in relation to business objectives, including revenue growth, cost management, and operational efficiency.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee).

Responsibilities

  • Help shape and execute Vantor’s enterprise AI strategy, aligned to product and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a company-wide enterprise AI leader, driving adoption beyond engineering into business workflows.
  • Be a core member of the AI Center of Excellence (CoE) and governance committee to accelerate delivery and standardize patterns.
  • Help the organization operationalize LLMs, agentic systems, and automation frameworks into production use cases.
  • Assist in shaping pragmatic governance to ensure secure, responsible, and scalable AI usage.
  • Build and own Vantor’s end-to-end development environment in partnership with Engineering leadership.
  • Standardize and optimize tooling, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and developer workflows.
  • Integrate AI-assisted development (copilots, agents, automated testing) into the SDLC.
  • Drive a platform-first model that enables engineers to ship faster with less friction.
  • Continuously improve developer productivity, onboarding, and system reliability.
  • Define Vantor’s modern architecture strategy across cloud, data, and application layers in secure and non-secure environments.
  • Design scalable, cost-efficient, and highly available platforms that support growth.
  • Lead modernization efforts, including consolidation, automation, and technical debt reduction.
  • Embed observability, security, and performance as core architectural principles.
  • Lead high-impact initiatives that improve velocity, cost structure, and scalability.
  • Establish clear KPIs for AI impact, platform adoption, and engineering efficiency.
  • Drive an automation-first culture, reducing manual work across engineering and operations.
  • Deliver measurable outcomes (e.g., reduced cycle time, lower cloud spend, improved margins).
  • Partner closely with the CIO, CTO, and leadership team to shape Vantor’s technology platforms.
  • Translate AI and platform investments into clear business value and ROI.
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders around a unified architecture and operating model.
